His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Spiritual Director of Eternal Life, is one of the world's leading authorities on Canon Law, holding a Bachelor and a Master of Arts degree in Sacred Theology, a Bachelor and Master of Arts in philosophy, and a Doctorate in Canon Law. He is Prelate of Honor of His Holiness John Paul II, a Member of the USCCB Pro-Life Committee, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, and Founder and President of the Board of Directors of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in LaCrosse. His Excellency has been appointed to investigate the Cause for Beatification and Sainthood for our own Father John A. Hardon, S.J., co-founder of Eternal Life and founder of the Real Presence Eucharistic Education and Adoration Association, Inter Mirifica, the Marian Catechists and The Institute on Religious Life and other organizations.
Cardinal Burke is the founder, with the permission and the Apostolic Blessing of Pope John Paul II, of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in LaCrosse Wisconsin. The Dedication of the Shrine was held on July 31, 2008, the sixth anniversary of the canonization of St. Juan Diego by John Paul II. His Eminence holds many other positions of responsibility and authority and has written profusely on matters of the Faith by way of Pastoral Letters. Cardinal Burke's faithful and consistent teaching of the Faith is matched only by his kindness and charity in teaching it.
His Eminence Cardinal Burke was created a Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church on November 20, 2010 by His Holiness Benedict XVI.
